Bump to Baby pairs a maternity session with a newborn session, so you get to see the whole beginning of your family's story: the anticipation and the arrival.

Your maternity session celebrates this season of waiting, and your newborn session captures your baby exactly as they are in those first few weeks. Because I'm with you for both, I already know you, your style, and what matters to you by the time baby arrives.

Your maternity photos aren't just about documenting your bump. They're about remembering who you were right before your family changed.

Then comes the newborn session—the tiny details, the sleepy yawns, siblings adjusting to their new role as big brother or sister, and all the little moments that make those first weeks uniquely yours.

Because we'll have already spent time together at your maternity session, I'll walk into your newborn session already knowing you, your style, and what matters to your family.

The Bump

Maternity sessions are best between 28 and 36 weeks, with 30 to 34 being my favorite window. You're round and glowing, but still comfortable and moving easily. We'll find a time that works around your due date and my calendar, and I'll help you plan locations such as Hampton Park, Azalea Park, Folly Beach, and Downtown Charleston. Lifestyle newborn photography at home

Your newborn session takes place in the place where you're actually learning how to be a family of three, four, five—or however many you are now.

I don't expect your house to look perfect. I don't expect your baby to sleep through the session. And I definitely don't expect you to know what you're doing yet.

Babies eat. Babies cry. Babies need diaper changes. Sometimes they just want to be held.

That's all completely normal.

We'll slow down, follow your baby's lead and let the session unfold naturally. Some of my favorite photographs happen in the moments we weren't planning for.

Newborn sessions are typically scheduled within the first several weeks after birth, but there's no strict “perfect age.” Whether you'd like those tiny, sleepy newborn days or a little more awake and interactive, we'll find the timing that feels right for your family.

What if baby is fussy?

Then your baby is being a baby.

We'll stop for feeding, diaper changes, rocking, cuddling and whatever else they need. I never want you watching the clock wondering when the session will be over.

And if your baby had a rough night and you wake up thinking, There is absolutely no way we can do photos today, let me know.

For in-home sessions, we'll reschedule when we can.

They're part of the story, too.

Siblings, the family dog or the cat who has already claimed the nursery - everyone is welcome.

I don't expect toddlers to sit perfectly still or siblings to cooperate for an entire session. We'll work with their personalities and energy rather than fighting against them.

Some of the best photographs happen when they're simply being themselves.

4. Have your baby- This is the part where you get to do absolutely nothing photographic. Just soak it all in.

5. Tell me baby is here- Once you're ready, we'll choose the best day for your newborn session.

6. Remember it forever- You'll receive your edited gallery within 2–3 weeks of each session.

For both maternity and newborn sessions, I suggest wearing neutral colors and clothing without large images/logos. Aim to coordinate outfits without matching. For newborn sessions, keep it simple: black and white photographs beautifully during these sessions.
