Finding the *Perfect* Pediatrician

Finding a Pediatrician Felt Daunting....

In 2015, I was expecting my first child. I was the anxious mom you found on Google and fearing off-gassing on mattresses. Picking a pediatrician was very difficult for me. I forget at what point in pregnancy that my OB wanted the name of our pediatrician, but I was a wreck trying to figure out how to even pick a pediatrician. I was SO fixated on this that I made an appointment with my primary care physician to ask her for her recommendations and help. I feel silly looking back at it, but I didn't know what else to do! She recommended our current pediatrician. The next day, I had to send a student home sick. When his mom came to pick him up, she let me know that she was bringing him straight to the pediatrician for a sick visit. I asked who they saw, and it was the same pediatrician that my PCP recommended! That week I went to my OB appointment and, at that point, was seeing each OB in practice to meet them all just in case my OB wasn't on call when I went into labor. When I gave that OB the pediatrician that I decided on, she was enthusiastic about our pick and sang his praises. That solidified my decision! And he's an AMAZING pediatrician. So, long story short, we picked Dr. Neill Herring with Mount Pleasant Pediatrics. But below is a list of amazing pediatricians in our area! I recommend meeting your pediatrician before you have your baby to make sure you're a good fit. Try a few on before choosing!
