Meet the "S" Family


As a photographer, my favorite sessions include documenting the transition from maternity to newborn photos in a "Bump to Baby" series. Recently, I had the pleasure of capturing this journey for a wonderful couple in Charleston, South Carolina.

Maternity Session: Downtown Charleston


This sweet couple brought such warmth and joy to their maternity session in downtown Charleston. I love shooting here because Charleston offers such an incredible variety of backdrops. I have to admit, the cobblestone streets and the iconic chain-link rope with the Ravenel Bridge in the background are two of my favorite spots. This couple was up for a little adventure, strolling with me from the lush beauty of White Point Garden to a dock near the Coast Guard Station. Along the way, we stopped at a few hidden gems to capture even more of Charleston’s charm.

Lifestyle Newborn Session


Vaughters Photography offers lifestyle newborn sessions as part of the Bump to Baby package or a la carte. These in-home sessions (or in-studio for an additional fee) focus on capturing genuine family connections rather than posed newborn shots. I love witnessing the big grins from mom and dad as they look at their baby, marveling at this new little life. This couple, especially, was in awe of their son—you could see the pure excitement in their eyes. At their request, we took a short walk to the neighborhood golf course, a spot close to their hearts, as it was the very place where they exchanged their wedding vows. Standing there with their new son in their arms brought everything full circle, adding another beautiful memory to this meaningful place.
