Baby L's Bump to Baby


There’s nothing quite like documenting the journey from pregnancy to welcoming a new baby. A Bump to Baby session is one of the most heartwarming experiences I offer as a maternity and lifestyle newborn photographer. These sessions beautifully preserve the love, excitement, and tender moments that define this transformative time in a family’s life, capturing memories you’ll treasure forever.


This sweet family chose the Bump to Baby package and even added on a Fresh48 session to document those precious first hours after their little one arrived. It was such a joy to walk alongside them through all three sessions and watch their family grow.


Funny enough, this session felt like it was meant to be. On Mother’s Day, while dining with my family on Shem Creek, I remember looking out over the marsh and saying to my husband, “I’d love to photograph a session here.” The marsh views and charm of the area felt like the perfect backdrop for a maternity session.

Not even a week later, I got a message from this lovely family asking to book a Bump to Baby package—and they wanted marsh views for their maternity session. It felt like a little slice of serendipity!


Their maternity session on Shem Creek was nothing short of magical. Mom looked stunning as she posed along the marshy shoreline. Meanwhile, her two boys brought an extra spark of energy to the session. These little adventurers loved searching for fiddler crabs, shells, and other tiny treasures while their parents had their photos taken. The only challenge? Keeping them clean long enough for family portraits!

The session wasn’t just about beautiful portraits—it was about documenting their family’s love and connection as they prepared to welcome a new member.

Meeting Baby L


When I met Baby L at the hospital for his Fresh48 session, it was clear just how special this time was for his family. Mom had requested a Fresh48 session focused solely on Baby L. She wanted to savor these intimate, peaceful moments before heading home to his two very excited big brothers. This approach is one of the reasons I love Fresh48 photography. It allows parents to slow down and soak in the first hours with their newest addition, capturing all the tiny details that change so quickly.

Baby L slept soundly through most of his Fresh48 session, making it easy to document his sweet, peaceful expressions. We focused on all those fleeting newborn details—the soft wrinkles on his hands and feet, the tiny clamped umbilical cord, and his delicate little features. These are the moments you’ll want to remember forever: the way their fingers curl into a perfect little fist, the unique creases on their forehead, and the fluff of baby hair that’s gone before you know it. Every Fresh48 session reminds me how quickly newborns grow and change, and it’s a privilege to capture these details before they fade.

Lifestyle Newborn Session


There’s something so special about photographing families in their own space, where life’s everyday moments unfold naturally. Baby L’s lifestyle newborn session was filled with love, energy, and just the right amount of chaos—thanks to two big brothers who couldn’t wait to show off their new sibling!

These two were absolutely smitten. Each brother eagerly took turns holding Baby L, beaming with pride in front of the camera. Big brothers bring a special kind of energy to newborn sessions, and their excitement added a beautiful dynamic to the day.

As for Baby L? Well, like many newborns, he wasn’t entirely sold on the idea of being a photography star at first. But that’s the beauty of a lifestyle newborn session—there’s no rush. In the comfort of their own home, we had all the time we needed to pause for cuddles, soothing, and a snack (for Baby L, of course!). With patience and a little flexibility, we created some truly beautiful images of him and his family

For Baby L’s session, the familiar setting of home allowed his parents to care for him easily while still being part of the moments we photographed.
